The July 16 Precision Ag Day will focus on nutrient placement in the soil with field demonstrations, precision equipment exhibits, and luncheon speakers. Recent research and innovations that will be demonstrated include:

  • Manure side-dress toolbar which enables after-planting applications
  • High speed, low disturbance tool that bands the fertilizer 4-8 inches below the soil surface
  • Deep tillage, deep placement bar which places the nutrients 6-8 inches in a band.
  • Strip till, nutrient blend tool that blends the fertilizer in the top 4 inches in a band.

Equipment exhibits and demonstrations will also include a planter with the most recent precision technology developments, side dress equipment, soil sampling, precision box spreader for manure applications, and strip-till equipment. Luncheon speakers will be Dr. Scott Schearer, Chair, Department of Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering, The Ohio State University, and Tom Menke, President, Menke Consulting.

Registration is required for this free event that includes lunch. The field day will be from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and be held at 9565 Seibt Road, Versailles.
