Farm to Fork Orchard and Farm Tour
Primary tabs
Brian and Kelly Helser operate a produce farm and community supported agriculture (CSA) program in Fairfield County. From small beginnings, they started seeds in a converted back porch greenhouse for two acres of crops. Nearly 20 years later, they have expanded to 100 acres of produce, growing customer favorites like sweet corn, tomatoes, green beans, apples, peaches, and a variety of other vegetables and fruits. They serve quality produce to their local community through sales at their home farmstand and several Columbus farmers’ markets. Tour their newly-planted orchard alongside Clear Creek, which includes 3,000 peach and apple trees, and learn how to summer-prune and care for a young tree for a bountiful harvest. See some of the vegetable crops and hear about the Helsers’ experiences in the local food movement and operating a CSA program.
After the tour, enjoy a delicious meal prepared by DA QUE using items grown on their farm. The meal will include pulled pork, green beans, sweet corn, new potatoes, peaches, and ice cream.
Cost and Registration: $25. To register, go to www.paigesproduce.com by July 1. Click on the CSA tab, which will direct you to a separate site where you can purchase a ticket. Meal included with each registration.
